At Uptown Fort McMurray Dental, we’re pleased to offer cosmetic dentistry options for you and your family. If you’re thinking about Botox treatment or veneers, Uptown Fort McMurray Dental staff would be happy to answer your questions.
What are veneers?
Veneers are very thin shells of either composite resin or porcelain that are attached to the front of your natural teeth. If you have tooth decay or gum disease, these will need to be treated before you get veneers.
How are porcelain veneers applied?
At your initial appointment, we will take a thin layer of enamel from the surface of the teeth to create space for the new veneers. Then we will take a mold to create your new custom veneers and, if necessary, place some temporary veneers to protect the treated surfaces. At your next appointment, we will adhere your new veneers and you’ll walk out with your beautiful new smile!
How are composite veneers applied?
Composite resin veneers can be done in 1 visit. Your dentist will choose a resin colour to match your natural tooth colour and then gently apply thin layers of the composite resin, hardening each layer with a bright light. Once all the layers are applied, we will shape and polish the tooth so that it looks natural and feels smooth.
If you’re concerned about the appearance of laugh lines around your mouth, crow’s feet around your eyes and the beginnings of other lines and creases on your face, Botox may help prevent these from becoming deep wrinkles.
